We first were assigned job roles. My contribution was to record all the sounds effectively using the M audio micro track. I ensured all equipment used to create the sounds were reliable therefore there would be no risk during recording. I succeeded in my role by producing the correct sounds to fit the piece of the selected film. I then re-played the recordings I'd composed to ensure they matched our groups initial idea before uploading the sounds I located the usb and plugged it via the computer and stored them into a convenient space. During my assistance others were sustaining their job roles such as practising their editing techniques on sounds located online to improve their skills and find what works for the clip and what doesn't. Once editing begun we fitted the sounds to match the clip to produce an overall soundtrack for our final piece. Once everything was correctly fitted we finally watched the finishing piece to guarantee we were satisfied with the outcome.
During the editing of our piece my contribution was to select a third of the clip and edit the sounds so that they were beneficial to the piece and correctly matched the movements on screen. I edited the store music so that as he was walking through the door of the store the sound was heard from the left earphone before switching to the right earphone (Panning) and raising the music slightly to create a reality effect of walking into the store from being outside.
On the other hand we could have changed the first sounds created as they were distorted so we could have re-made the sound to ensure the piece ran smoothly.
In conclusion my opinion on the project as a whole was successful despite some of the sounds not matching the clip on screen. My reason for this is that we managed to complete a clip to a sustainable grade and on deadline although i will go back later on in the year to improve our grade. Even though we had many successes during our project, we had various difficulties with the m audio micro track as it would not function correctly the majority of the time; we overcame this barrier by replacing the faulty equipment. In addition to this we created an effective project as it met the requirements we were set.
